The best way is to go to Cosmotology school for your estheticians license. After you are licensed, you can put your own artistic talents to work. Most Beauty schools have emplyment placement. Depending on where you live , there are different schools. I went to Continental in Western NY.
Since you are a lisceinced cosmotologist, I don't think that youwould need any more schooling. That is unless you want to teach at a school. I don't have any schools to advice you to but I will say this. Start working in a salon ----not a cheap hair salon or anything, I mean something high class. Make a portfolio of your work. This way people will be able to see what your capable of. . . to see just how much range you have with make up. This may sound wierd but try to find odd jobs that put your name out there. Go to phoptography studios around your area. You could also apply for jobs around your mall and or shopping center working with cosmetics from Clinique, Sephora, Lancome etc. I hope this helps in some way. . . not to get you to a school but either on the side or afterwards. Good luck.
You're on the right track. Now you need to be
where you can get the training for your skill to
be used the way you want it to be.
Stage, TV, Movies, personal talent.
You have to go where the need is.
If you want to do it for a living, you really need to live in either LA, then NY then Chicago. I doubt any other place in the US has much of a real market for that. There are schools all over the place, my brother went to one in Orlando to learn makeup artistry for horror movies but there is not much work there for that. Move to LA or NY after you finish your studying.
get the federal jobs books out at the public library reference section . they'll help you find info.
got to or call upscale salons movie studios all who do it and ask.
don't be shy.
good luck!
