Should you tip the make up artist for a free demonstration at the cosmetic counter at the mall?

He is a pro demonstrating new season麓s colors, but he麓s doing the whole make up process: sun protection, age prevention... eye make up, etc.Should you tip the make up artist for a free demonstration at the cosmetic counter at the mall?
As far as tipping goes, I always ask. Usually, they cannot accept tips, but they like you to buy something. Personally, I have never been to a make up counter that accepts tips, but I am sure it depends on where you are. It really depends on the counter. Lancome, for instance, does not require you to purchase anything, (at least not the ones I have been to), but as a courtesy I always do. Chanel, on the other hand, requires a minimum purchase. I always follow the age-old rule: When in doubt, always ask. Hope this helps!Should you tip the make up artist for a free demonstration at the cosmetic counter at the mall?
I say no! Free is free, he most certainly would not expect to be tipped for such a service. He gets paid for these demos by the make up company. I've never heard of any body tipping a make up artist in a department store. If, however, you go to a salon and see a licensed estetician, then yes you would tip him.
If they go out of there way to be extremely helpful and it impresses you then it is a nice gesture. However it is not necessary or expected. Also some places will not allow them to accept tips as demonstration is a part of there job.
Sure, if you can afford to do it. Why not tip everyone you see while racking up charges on the old credit card?
