How to pay for a MAKE UP ARTIST?

I am planning to open up a kiosk that sells beauty supplies; therefore, I need to hire make up artist. How do they get paid. Meaning paid hourly or commission? Any suggestions would be appreciated. How to pay for a MAKE UP ARTIST?
Any kiosk that opens in a mall pays employees by commission and not by an hourly wage. This is because you are trying to sell a product, and so the employee has to be motivated enough to be able to convince people to buy the product. that's why whenever you walk by a kiosk, they badger you constantly. And also, if employees get hourly wages, then if they are unable to sell products, the company actually loses a large profit. It's the same thing with car companies, they are paid on commission. How to pay for a MAKE UP ARTIST?
Uhm.. I have no experience in this, but my guess would be either an hourly wage or piece work (ie. a set amount for each person they make up or something like that) or some combination of the two, such as a low hourly wage, with an additional sum for each customer or something like that.

Just my thoughts. :)
